People were often blessed by the presence of Jesus.
The shepherds were blessed by His presence in the manger. Jesus chose twelve men to be with Him. They became His closest friends. The widow in Nain was blessed by the presence of Jesus when He raised her son back to life from the grave. The little children were blessed by Jesus. The blind, lame, deaf were all blessed by His presence.
But one time, people were blessed by His absence.
Matthew 28:6, “He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.” We are blessed by His absence. Because of Jesus' absence we have the hope of victory over death. Because of Jesus' absence we can have the Holy Spirit in our lives. Because of Jesus' absence we have the hope of heaven.
Celebrate this Easter by remembering we are blessed by the absence of Jesus!
