I had a great time at the National Missionary Convention last week!  It was good to see so many friends from many different places.  Plus, Jim Newman did a good job in his workshop informing us about the work in Australia... and even doing some recruiting to get people to go there and work with him.  (Almost persuaded Jim... almost persuaded. lol)

This is a pic from one of the main sessions in Rupp Arena.

Thanksgiving is Thursday!!

I've been doing a lot of thinking about Thanksgiving.  I will be posting some thoughts about Thanksgiving over the next couple days.  But I have come to the realization of what I consider to be the key ingredient for giving thanks.  In fact, without this ingredient you cannot be truly thankful.  That key ingredient is humility.

It is the truly humble person who recognizes that they deserve nothing and therefore gives thanks, even in the small things.

A proud person cannot be thankful.  They think that all they have is because of their own effort.

But to be thankful is to recognize God's control over our lives. To be thankless is to ignore God. It's almost a practical atheism if you will to not give thanks.

I look forward to sharing more thoughts about thanksgiving this week.

My nephew Khi had a fall last week and split his head open.  He had to get 7 stitches... but he's a tough little guy.  Here he is taking pictures of people taking pictures of him!  lol

Have a great Monday!!
